The 5 'W's

Hello, I am Calvin, designer and founder of OMGems.

Passion and Dreams have always been the defining centre of my life. Since the tender age of 5, I have always had the burning ambition to become a designer and that eventually led me to graduate from art school. With 20 years of experience in fashion design and merchandising, working for some of the top and most well-known brands today, an appreciation for fine jewellery and gems became a natural extension of my creative pursuits.

A trip to Sri Lanka, one of the world's biggest producers of gemstones, set me on an unexpected and exciting trajectory. I accumulated so much knowledge about gems and fine jewellery that I feel compelled to share it with close friends and family. Many conversations later, I was struck by the common misconception of fine jewellery and gems being seemingly unattainable. That motivated me to set up OMGems (a licensed jewellery company registered with the Ministry of Law), so that more people can experience the empowering process of having bespoke jewellery crafted just for them, at a fraction of the cost of what is found in retail stores.
